Omdat deze breedbandig is (10 MHz tot 26,5 GHz), is het niet nodig om meerdere bronnen in verschillende frequentiebanden te gebruiken. De lage SWR van de ruisbron vermindert een belangrijke bron van meetonzekerheid: reflecties van testsignalen.
