Splice protector sleeves (100), single-fibre, length 60 mm, after shrink diameter 2,8 mm

Splice protector shrink sleeves to provide mechanical and environmental protection for fusion splices of single fibre up to 900 micron. They are sometimes referred to as heat-shrink tubes, or “smooves” in France. These 60 mm long sleeves have a heat-shrinkable outer tube and a hot-melt glue inner tube to encapsulate the splice. Important for the alignment and rigidity is the strength member or stainless-steel needle or rod with rounded and polished edges inside. Before splicing, slide the sleeve over one side of the cable, splice, and slide it over the spliced area. By heating the sleeve, it will melt and seal the connection, making it waterproof and mechanically robust. The sleeve diameter after shrinking will be 2,8 mm.
