Spectrum & signal analysers ≤ 26,5GHz
While the terms spectrum analyser and signal analyser are used interchangeably, signal analyser is a more accurate term for today’s analysers. A spectrum analyser represents the signals in a graphical display as frequency on the x-axis, against amplitude or power level on the y-axis; and sweeps a wide frequency range.
A vector signal analyser (VSA) captures signals at a fixed centre frequency and includes phase information and more. It uses digital processing to demodulate signals based on digital in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) modulation components. It also analyses signal characteristics such as signal-to-noise ratio (or carrier-to-noise ratio), error vector magnitude (EVM) and code domain power. Spectrum & signal analysers are available as handhelds or benchtops. They are often used with measurement and analysis software, to automate and optimise your set-up. External mixers are used for corrections or frequency extension.
