Multimode, OM4, 100 meters long fibre launch cable in a cubic box with SC/UPC connection on one side and LC/UPC on the other. The lightweight housing is equipped with a magnet, can be easily mounted on a rack, and a shoulder strap for easy handling. The 1,5 meters long input and output fibres are protected by an internal metal spiral wrap with crush resistance of 1000N/10cm.

A Fibre launch cable eliminates the dead zone that occurs when using an OTDR (optical time domain reflectometer) and guarantees accurate and reliable measurements. It is also called launch or receive cable, launch box, pulse suppressor, dead zone box or fibre ring. According to the ITU-T G650.3 recommendations the OTDR testing should be carried out using a launch fibre that is long enough to allow measurement of the first connector in the link. Preferably a similar length cable should be connected at the end of the fibre under test to allow correct measurement of the loss of the connector at the far end of the link. It is important to note that the fibre of the launch cable should match the fibre under test (type, core size…).
